The absolute rule OF REVERSE OSMOSIS purification is, the more PSI the better the flow and recharge rate, and the better the rejection rate. The pump will dramatically improve the refill and the rejection rates.
If you have low PSI (less than 45) and/or high TDS (500), the pump is a good investment. If you want the best rejection possible to save on the DI filters, then the pump is a good idea. It is either on or off and does not have automatic controls. to control it is with a simple plug in timer...20 minutes 3 times per day.
