Hot chamber die cast zinc alloy can be cast to tight tolerances, complex details, net shape and the alloy's dimensional stability ensures part to part consistency over long production runs. Net shape manufacturing is one of the main advantages of hot chamber die cast zinc alloys. The most commonly used zinc alloy are ZAMAK 2, ZAMAK 3 & ZAMAK 5 is a high performance alloy with improved mechanical properties. These alloy families offer higher tensile strength than the most aluminum and magnesium alloy, higher yield strength, greater impact resistance, higher Brinell hardness & better ductility. Zinc alloy facilitate higher die casting cycle spreads versus aluminum and other metal alloy, more complex shape, thinner wall section, smother surface finishes, and higher standard of dimensional accuracy. Compared to plastic, zinc alloy are several times stronger and many times more rigid. Their mechanical properties compare favorably with powdered iron, brass & screw-machined steel.
