An added bonus of an evaporative air cooler is that the pads that cool the air also filter it. As the air passes through the pads, dirt, dust, allergens and other pollutants are captured in the fibers of the pads.
The performance of evaporative air cooler decreases as the humidity increases. Basically, evaporative air cooler are suitable for areas with dry summers, such as inland and southern regions although their effectiveness will be reduced during the occasional periods of humid weather that these areas can experience.
The cost to run an evaporative air cooler can be as less than the amount it costs to run a traditional air conditioner because of the efficient cooling capabilities of the technology. The evaporative air cooler uses much less energy than a ordinary air cooler.
