BPO 75% is an effective initiator in the polymerization and copolymerization of numerous vinyl monomers including vinyl acetate, vinyl chloride, styrene, methyl methacrylate, acrylonitrile etc. Polymerization are readily carried out in bulk, solution, emulsion and suspension systems. Effective catalyst concentrations are in the range of 0.1 to 2% at 80 to 150celsius.

- As an initiator for the polymerization of vinyl monomer-unsaturated polyester resin compositions at elevated temperatures or at ambient temperatures when used in conjunction with dimethylaniline or other accelerators.
- As a bleaching agent in the decolorization of oils fats, waxes, flour and soaps.
- As a drying agent for printing ink unsaturated oil.
