Standalone-H8 series Embedded Network Disk Video Recorder (briefly called Embedded NET DVR, or simply NET DVR) have both features of Digital Video Recorder and Digital Video Server. It is completely independent of PC + Windows platform. The system are built upon embedded processor and embedded realtime operating system, not PC processor and PC operating system.
The Embedded NET DVR uses H.264 technology video compression standard and G.722 audio coding standard. It achieves realtime hardware video and audio compressing, and those functions such as recording compressed stream in hard disk, realtime video & audio preview, local playback of recorded files, realtime network transmission of compressed stream, remote playback and download of recorded files, stream protocol (RTP/RTCP, RTSP) support, web browser support, bi-directional voice communication support, multilingual support and so on.
