Seeds with the surrounding juice sacs are often added to fruit salads in Australia. Passion fruit juice is a good source of ascorbic acid (vitamin C), carotenoids (vitamin A) and niacin.

The peeled fruits may be pickled whole, or may be substituted for tomatoes in a hot chili sauce. Eaten fresh or as flavoring for drinks.
