Les percussion claviers de Lyon

Percussions Claviers de Lyon
Twenty years old… what a nice age! But it’s not that easy to reach, especially for a small ensemble created on impulse, one day back in 1983.
The objective was -and still is- unusual: to support and illustrate original and transcribed music with a keyboard percussion quintet, quite a special format. Some challenge that was! Back then, there was a real shortage in contemporary pieces. Moreover, «reducing» great classics for a few instruments, especially percussions, was bold indeed and astonished many.
And today, the PCL are still around! With some changes among their members, the five musicians continue to re-read the classics, illustrate contemporary music, explore new musical shows… and even better: write their own repertoire!
In short, they offer a trip not from Bach to Debussy but from Bach to Frank Zappa.
