Our portable Mapping OTDR comes with a software that will revolutionize the way OTDR testing will be done in the future. All the user has to do is enter simple descriptions of the fiber and its related information to establish a fiber's data base. When an event occurs on the fiber, the program will not just show how far this event is from the testing point but also what the address if this event is. This will drastically reduce the response time in case of emergency and will give the repairman clear and accurate instructions as to where to go for the broken fiber. Various convenient tools, calculation functions and thumbnails are also added to the program for users to analyze, compare and examine the traces scanned from the fibers. By combining both Windows Graphic User Interface, a touch pad and keyboard. The user can control all aspects of the program with ease. With the concept that each fiber is a file, the user can access all traces of the same fiber with a click of the mouse. Since the program utilizes the Windows environment. Users are allowed to use an array of Windows compatible printers. The optional thermal printer is capable of providing fast on-site printing(2 inch/sec) and the output is at a convenient 10cm width for easy storage of large quantity of test results. The program also provides a simple to customize printing function that allows the users to print any part of the result as they see fit.
