IDE CD - ROM Server for Ethernet Network
The CS-700 CD Share is an IDE CD-ROM Server that enables user to login and share CD-ROMs in the Ethernet network environment. Is uses an easy-to-install configuration and friendly Plug-n-Play server architecture without the need to power down the network system. The CS-700 is the first CD-ROM server to support the less expansive ATAPI IDE interface CD-ROM drives. The low cast IDE CE-ROM drives can be shared and used as the common resources pool between work-group users. Without connecting to the file server physically, the CS-700 can be connected to any node in the network, particularly near the user. For CS-700, it is easy to upgrade CD-ROM drive and relocate the working environment to accommodate organization or functional changes. With CS-config management software, CS-700 can provide easy configuration and intelligent management functions from any workstation in the network. Network managers can concentrate on more complicated network problems. The CD Share is designed for the network users. The user can access Novell Netware 3.1x, 4.x or Windows NT Server through Windows 3.1, Windows 95, or Windows NT Operation System from the workstation. By using IDE CD-ROM drive with the CS-700, the hardware cost is much lower than other interface CD-ROM drive solutions. There is no additional software or license required to run the CD Share.
