Varnish: when first applied, varnish provides a clear gloss finish. Wood preservatives: most of these do a good job protecting wood protecting wood against fungus and mould in the short term. However, they will not maintain the rich appearance of natural wood. Semitransparent surface coatings: these also look good when first applied, but as they sit on the surface they are susceptible to peeling and cracking and eventually require removal by sanding before a new coat can be applied. They often have a plastic look and hide grain. Clear wood finishes from flood: both CWF and CWF-UV penetrate deep into the wood, dry clear, seal out moisture and stabilize the wood. Both restore and maintain the rich, warm appearance of natural wood. Periodical re-coating without sanding will keep your wood beautiful for years to come. Fresh varnish looks good-but only for a while. The slightest damage and moisture will creep under the surface and ruin the appearance. Not so with Deks Olje.
