(Also know as wicker, centre cane) it's the pith of rattan cut into uniform strips of desirable shape (round, flat, flat-oval, wedge shaped spline). It's been used for making baskets and wicker furniture.

Features
- The white center material (pith) of rattan cane, cane without bark (skin):
- Special qualities: it is hand selected material, light colored (white/tan); its cut firm texture.
- First quality: it is hand select light colored core, of proper species, pliable, no brown or black color.
- Bleached quality: it has white, or natural-like light color; it's pliable, light in weight (better yield in length up to 15%); it's properly leached from uneven coloured core.
- Second quality: it is natural rattan core of uneven color of pliable kind that has no black spots. It includes brown or dark pieces light or white natural color or reasonable proportions.
- Packing:
- Regular bulk packed bale has net weight of 1 picul (a local unit of approximately 60-kilogram or 133.3lbs). This packing also includes bulk 50 kilograms and 100lbs bales. Usually a bale comprises of 2 or 4 inner-bundles.
- Hanks: most rattan core can be packed into small straight bundles of 2kgs, 1kg, or 1lb. hanks with a put-up charge, for the convenient to retail sales. A hank is individually tied on one end only.
- Coils: for small sizes (1.5mm to 5mm round rattan core) cores can be hand packed into a ring of 1kg or 1lb. etc. for neat, easy, economical handling. A coil is made from a hank curing the loose ends into the center or the coil, and form a compact unit.
- #50 round rattan core: it is perfectly uniform, end of end machine cut rattan core.
- #51 halfround rattan core: it is machine cut round rattan core splitted lengthwise into two equal halves. The (original) diameter is the widest dimension in cross sectional view; it is minimum size is 3mm, and its largest diameter is about 20mm
- #52 flatoval rattan core: It is machine cut rattan that is flat on one side, and have an elliptical (or oval shaped) surface on the other side. It's used as binding material for most rattan furniture, and hence being used like rattan peel with bark (skin)
- #53 groovedoval rattan core: it is machine cut rattan that is uniform in thickness that have elliptical surface on one side and a grooved surface on the other. It can be produced with better uniformity in width (size) and in thickness.
- #54 spline core: it is wedge shaped rattan core, that has a trapezoidal shape like cross section. It's cut from a round rattan core, and hence the widest dimension (height - the axis f the cross section) is the same as the round core from which the spline is made. The height is selected to fit the depth of the groove of the wood frame in which the spline would fit into. The width of he crown-top section, is sized 60-80% of the height, and this is usually made to fit the width of the mentioned groove. The smallest dimension is the bottom.
