The Acer CD624A is a 24X max. speed, 5.25-inch half height form factor CD-ROM drive. It employs the advanced CAV technology. CAV (Constant Angular Velocity) technology maintains consistent CD-ROM disk rotation speed and reads data at various transfer rates. This feature ensures less stressing of the spindle motor and thus better reliability of drive. It also improves the performance of data seeking / reading in most areas of a disk.
