Application
Elmendorf Tearing Tester. To determine the tearing strength of fabric, paper, etc. Range from 8000 to 64000 Millinewtons with suitable pendulums, including 4 pendulums.
Elmendorf Tearing Tester is specially designed for the tearing strength of fabric, paper, leather, film, non-woven materials with well-regulated tearing direction, and other thin materials. Elmendorf tester does not apply to sparse fabric or stretch materials which tearing direction might be shift when testing.
Test Procedure
Elmendorf tearing tester using stable mechanical clamps, specimen is fixed in the clamp and use the equipped blade to cut a crack, specimen is torn along the crack direction by releasing the moveable clamp, convert the work value of tearing in a certain length to ballistic tearing strength.
