Application of Each Probe Type
1.Normal probe
Narrow-pulse normal probe
Dual normal probe
Mainly used for testing defects paralleled to or slightly tilted against the test surface (e.g. steel plate)
2. Transverse wave angle probe
Small-diameter-pipe probe
Focusing transverse-wave probe
Variable-angle probe
Mainly used for testing defects perpendicular to or quite tilted against the test surface (e.g. welding line testing)
3.Surface wave probe
Mainly used for surface defect testing and also for surface crack depth testing.
4. Dual normal probe for thickness gauge
Mainly used for measuring work piece thickness.
5. Standard echo probe
Mainly used for calibration of flaw detectors.
6. Immersion normal probe
Mainly used in situations where the work piece and the probe do not contact directly. It is suitable for testing work piece with rough surface and automatic testing required to increase scanning speed and shorten testing time.
7. Low-frequency normal probe
Suitable for non-metal material, such as testing on rubber or concrete.
