Pinarello works with both the Italian National Track Team and British Cycling Federation. These collaborations gave Pinarello extra motivation to come up with a track frame that pushed the limits the way their Bolide time trial frame did on the road. The MAAT 60.1 is that frameset. The Italian team is the home squad and where their passion lies. But the British team has been on the cutting edge of aerodynamic technology, has demonstrated unparalleled success on the track, and the access to their intelligence is a boon to all of us. Before, the British frames were barely production models, despite UCI dictates. Now theye accessible to everybody.

This is no repurposing of road technology. It is a design made exclusively for the velodrome. The ribs in the wide stance fork and stays are obvious differences. The wider stance is better for aerodynamics and stiffness. And because stiff wasn stiff enough, the vertical ribs add material and greater rigidity in these places.
