Ethyl acetate
Properties:
Colorless, volatile, flammable liquid with fruit-like fragrance. Relative density (20oC) 0.9006g/cm3, melting point –83.6C, boiling point 77.15C. Slightly soluble in water, soluble in organic solvents like ether, acetone, ester, benzene and gasoline, can form azetropic mixture with other solvents.
Usage:
A very important organic raw material with extensive applications. As an important industrial solvent, primarily used in products like paint, adhesive, ethyl cellulose, synthesis fabric; also as an adhesive in printing ink, synthesis pearl production; as an extractor in medical use, for production in organic acid. It is also the ingredient for pineapple, banana fragrance.
