NSULATION PIERCING CONNECTORS - IPCS
IPC’s allow a connection to be made between 2 conductors, typically connecting a tap conductor to a main conductor. IPC’s can be used to connect covered conductor to either another covered conductor or a bare conductor.
BENEFITS OF USING IPCS
Ease of Installation: No special tools or cable stripping required. Spacers allows the tap side of the connection to remain open whilst IPC is put into position on Main conductor.
High Quality connection: The double shear-head bolt ensures a high quality connection is made at the correct tightening torque without having to use a torque wrench. This eliminates the possibility of hot spots, damaged wires or loose connections.
High level of Safety: The complete isolation of the bolt and all external parts of the connector from the energised parts & the use of a plastic shear-head means that the installer has no contact at any point with an energised load.
Corrosion Resistant: As an IPC is installed sealant is forced out to make a corrosion free connection from oxygen and water.Function: Fire resistant, waterproof.
