Biological Xylose is a component of Xylan which is widely present in plants. Xylose is also present in animal heparin, chondroitin, and glycoproteins, which is the connection unit of certain glycoproteins sugar chain and serine (or threonine). Xylose of free state has not been found in nature so far.
