Compression springs are the most common type of spring used in today's marketplace. They are designed for creating resistance to a linear compressive force. Most often the body of a compression spring is open coiled (spacing between coils known as pitch), helical shaped, and coiled with a constant diameter. All of these aspects can be tailored to your specific requirement. Other shapes include cone, barrel, and hourglass. By using a cone shape for instance, a design can be tailored to applications that have solid height restrictions.
The ends of compression spring are often ground to increase operational life and to allow the spring to sit squarely on it's load bearing surface. Our grinding capability ranges from hand-operated equipment to large automatic CNC downfeed disc grinders.
