Dimethicone. This polydimethylsiloxane polymer is manufactured to yield essentially linear polymers. This fluid provides excellent water repellency, good dielectric properties over a wide range of temperatures and frequencies, has low surface tension, and exhibits heat stability, oxidation resistance, very low vapour pressure and high flash point. Typical uses include release agent, foam control, mechanical fluid, surface active fluid, lubricant, cosmetic and skin preparations, polishes and chemical specialty products, insulating and damping for electrical and electronic equipment and as a plastic additive.
