The XFR Series is our newest line of power supplies. It incorporates our most advanced technology and design philosophy. This series was released in early 1996 to replace the XKW 1000 Watt and 3000 Watt models. The XFR Series uses zero voltage switch which results in increased efficiency and lower noise. This latest development in power conversion technology has only recently been implemented by manufacturers of fixed output power supplies. To ease production, the same input, main control, and digital interface boards are used in the 1200 Watt and 2800 Watt models. The difference between the two models is in the size of the magnetic and capacitors used. All differential parts on the main control board are mounted on a small "piggyback" board. This allows control boards to be built to the regular specifications of each model and the differential board to be added later. The XFR series caters to the application needs of computer controlled component burn-in, electroplating, process control, magnet control, and other high powered requirements currently being served by the XKW Series. The XFR is a 19" rack mountable power supply. The 1200 Watt model allows 1.75" (1U) vertical rack space. The 2800 Watt model is available in a 3.50" (2U) size.
