Green silicon carbide has a high purity, and is brittle. Knoop hardness is 3288 ~ 3400 kg/mm^2. Grinding wheels made of it are suitable for processing hard and brittle non-metallic workpiece, such as cemented carbide, optical glass, agate, ceramics as well as hard alloy etc.. it can also be used in the manufacture of high-class refractory products, electrothermal products, electrical appliance products, etc.
