The Sanfeng Fruits Storage and Transport CO., LTD. is a Sino-American joint venture company which was established in April 2000 with registered capital of USD3.1 million and a total investment of USD6.2 million. The focus of our business is on planting growing, researching, storing and processing of the produce. We have 300 plus employees and our facilities include a 10 000 MT controlled atmosphere storage complex.
Our company is located on Jiaodong peninsula Shandong province, which claims a centuries-long fruit plantation history and 80 percent of the apples production in china. In there we established model garden covering an area of 66 hectares, which displays our fine fruit produce is conveniently located at the plant. Production base covers an area of 2650 hectares. We use the Bayer Company of Germany's insecticides and fungicides, which conform the strict regulations of the European Union (EU) thus ensuring the quality of our produce to be of a level acceptable for sales within the EU. Now, Our company has Successfully Got EUREPGAP Certificate.
In the recent years we have successfully established our markets overseas. In 2003 the company realized a total of USD18 million from its annual sales of which export sales accounted for USD14.5 million or 80 percent of the company's total annual sales. We have sold our produce to more than twenty countries and our principal customers are in Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, Sweden, UK and France. Furthermore we have supplied apples to France retail group Carrefour for two years.
