Targa Electronic Services created an intuitive human interface to easily control HVAC, lighting, and multimedia systems. In 1992, Targa expanded and began providing intelligent home system. The home automation market included Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Thailand, and Taiwan. After many years of successful testing, Targa Technology Inc. have adopted the LonWorks Communication Standard for its design and concentrated on the application of high quality internet intelligent commercial building and high-end residential since 1995. LonWorks continues to be at the foundation of Nico's product line.

In 1999, Targa Electronic Services changed their name to Nico Technology. Nico stands for Network Integration Control Organization. Nico had established its headquarter and Research and Development Team in Taiwan since 1999. LonWorks has been the researching core of Nico Technology over years with the fully effort.
